1. Avocado Gula Melaka Smoothie

Avocados are extremely nutritious and are rich in healthy fats, fiber and contain about 20 different vitamins and minerals! Most importantly, they make for good smoothies because of their creamy texture and nutty flavour. To sweeten the recipe, it is best to use gula melaka, or coconut palm sugar, which pairs perfectly with avocado and adds a rich caramel undertone.

Ingredients:
Serves 2

    - 4 pitted avocados - 50g melted gula melaka - 300ml milk of your choice - 50g crushed walnuts - 150g ice cubes (optional)

Directions:
1. To make gula melaka syrup, chop up the gula melaka into smaller pieces, add to a pan with a little bit of water and melt over low heat until you get a maple syrup-like consistency.
2. Add avocados, ice (optional), milk, and gula melaka syrup into the blender.
3. Blend until smooth.
4. Pour into a cup and top with crushed walnuts. Enjoy!

2. Triple Berry Smoothie

Berries are one of the healthiest foods you can add to your diet. Not only are they loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, they can help to reduce inflammation and are great for your skin. This yummy low-calorie smoothie is a definite crowd-pleaser.

Serves 2

    - ¼ cup frozen strawberries - ¼ cup frozen raspberries - ½ cup frozen blueberries - 1 frozen banana - 1 cup milk of your choice - ½ cup Greek yogurt
