Yes it’s that merry time of the year again and the perfect opportunity to get started on the DIY project you've been dreaming of, and there’s nothing better than decorating your own Christmas Wreath to do the job.

Time to put on your creative cap and brighten your home with colourful red berries, ribbons, the smell of fresh pine and some DIY Christmas cheer!

Instructions

  1. Create your wreath base by clipping long twigs from any tree and twisting them into a circle. Use freshly clipped twigs as dry ones will snap. Alternatively, you can also look in your local florist or craft shop for a twiggy wreath base.
  2. Wrap wire around the middle of each pine cone, feeding it through the teeth of the cone. Leave enough wire for securing onto the wreath base.
  3. Wrap the berry stalks with wire, again leaving enough wire for securing.
  4. Prepare leaf bundles by fastening the stalks of 3 - 4 waxy leaves together with wire. Do the same with the needle pine sprigs. Again, leave some length to the wire ends for securing onto the base.
  5. Gather together three sticks of cinnamon around and fasten around the middle with craft wire. Cover the wire with ribbon but leave enough wire for fastening onto base.
  6. Arrange the berries, leaf bundles, pine sprigs, pine cones and cinnamon onto the wreath base and secure the wires.
  7. Add some ribbons as you see fit and you're done! You can even refresh the look of the wreath every few days by adding feathers, different ribbons or fresh flowers.
